I just noticed that the Falcon F7, packin a 7.0 liter LS7 and built right outa Detroit, shares some features with the new GT, particularly the flying buttresses as well as exhaust tip placement. I wonder if those two features influenced the GT at all... I should keep an eye out for one of them AMAs with a developer I think it'd be a good question
and some engine porns

Perhaps, but probably also from this:
Or, further back, from this:
Or, WAY WAY WAY back, perhaps this:

by golly I think you're right. The blue, two pairs of wheels, two doors, headlamps... it's all there. Ford was pretty smart copying all those features to make that GT

I think the whole car was inspired from aerodynamics, the engine and weight. I'm betting the exhaust is where it is so there's not much piping weighing the car down.

No, because the F7 is a design cribed off of the old GT, the Mosler MT900, and the K1 attack. The new GT looks like.....well the old GT, but newer.

I can't help but see this similarity every time I see the GT :
They're different for sure, but still close somehow.
